2023 ESG Report: Infobip Takes Major Steps Towards Sustainability
India, November 6th, 2024: Global communications platform Infobip has published its annual Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. Adopting the latest market benchmarks and leading practices, the 2023 report aligns with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in preparation for the evolving landscape of sustainability reporting with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Supported by Anthesis, an external sustainability consultancy, Infobip’s 2023 ESG report introduces four critical pillars: powering the ecosystem, protecting the environment, supporting life chances, and investing in our people. These are supported by sound governance, as a cross-cutting principle across Infobip’s ESG report.
Powering the ecosystem
Infobip is at the forefront of developing new technologies, ideas, and innovative products and services to make digital interactions more efficient and accessible. In 2023, Infobip received recognition for its achievements as Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) Leader in the Omdia Universe, Gartner® Magic Quadrant™, and IDC MarketScape reports. With a vision to power the entire ecosystem, Infobip also provided startups with up to $60,000 of credits and organized a Startup Tribe event where firms had the opportunity to pitch ideas to more than 10,000 attendees.
Protecting the environment
In 2023, Infobip aligned with global best practices in carbon management and reporting. Infobip is committed to setting a carbon target with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) by 2025 and has adopted the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) guidelines. The company also developed a global environmental policy, which helps raise awareness of such issues inside the business and across the supply chain while minimizing its environmental footprint.
Supporting life chances
Infobip is making a meaningful impact in communities worldwide. The firm donated nearly €165,000 and over 170 laptops, monitors, and other equipment to support more than 100 projects. Our Social Impact Program reflects our deep understanding of the complex challenges facing communities worldwide and combines financial support with volunteering and targeted initiatives. These efforts included environmental initiatives such as tree planting and support for botanical gardens.
Investing in our people
Infobip established an employee-led Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) task force to ensure that these issues play a prominent role in the business. Infobip also launched a global training program on DE&I topics, with over 3,165 attendees worldwide, to guarantee that all employees feel safe and respected. In 2023, over 11% of employees worldwide volunteered more than 800 hours, showing a deep-rooted dedication to community engagement across various regions. This included over 170 managers volunteering in the Vodnjan area, alongside contributions from internal organizations like the Solidarna Foundation and international organizations such as the Red Cross.
Sound governance
Alongside Infobip’s four pillars, transparency, integrity, and respect underpin Infobip’s strong governance in all business operations. In 2023, Infobip carried out a materiality assessment to identify critical reporting and strategic issues. In the coming year, the assessment will be updated in line with the Double Materiality requirements outlined in the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
Silvio Kutić, CEO at Infobip, said: “Infobip’s ESG policies and achievements are going from strength to strength. We are working hard to create a lasting impact beyond our operations. As the market-leading communications platform, we are dedicated to nurturing a more inclusive and sustainability-driven ecosystem.”
