
Bengaluru, Jan 12: Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in India, successfully hosted the second edition of Aster Beacon Conference 2025–26, a flagship knowledge sharing platform focusing on the theme “Harnessing Technology and AI for Transformative Healthcare: Enhancing Quality, Safety and Efficiency.” The conference was held at the RV Dental College Auditorium, Bengaluru and was attended by over 200+ healthcare professionals across India, including Clinicians, Administrators, Quality Managers, Nursing and Hospital Management Students.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Anoop A. Shetty, an IPS officer and a formidable figure in the realm of information security who graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with key leaders from Aster DM Healthcare. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anoop Shetty said, “Cybersecurity as we know is all about keeping computers, networks, and data safe from hackers and digital threats. As healthcare today operates at the intersection of technology and human life, adapting to a strong cybersecurity ecosystem is critical. It is especially important because patient records are sensitive, and any attack can disrupt care or even put lives at risk.”
The conference featured a distinguished panel of national experts from leading healthcare institutions, academic bodies, and healthcare technology organisations. Speakers included senior leaders and subject-matter experts such as Directors of Digital Health, AI and MedTech, Heads of professional bodies and healthcare organisations and leaders from the Quality Department. Senior leaders from the Aster group included Mr Ramesh Kumar S, Chief Operating Officer; Dr Anup R Warrier, Chief of Medical Affairs & Quality; Mr. Sudeep Dey, Chief Information Officer & Chief Information Security; Dr Prashant N, Chief Executive Officer, Karnataka Cluster and Dr Anna George, Head – Quality, Aster DM Healthcare.
Distinguished speakers participated in six thematic sessions: Generating actionable insights on the Digital health ecosystem and quality of care; Patient engagement in the digital era; Challenges, ethical considerations, upskilling and Change management in tech adoption; Operational excellence powered by technology; and insight into technology and AI in medication safety; and Cybersecurity as a patient safety concern. A structured expert-led debate session on the impact of digitisation in healthcare fostered balanced dialogue on opportunities, risks, and ethical considerations.
