Celebrity Chef Ajay Chopra Introduces Plaka 2.0 A Fresh Take on Dining

Ajay Chopra Unveils Plaka 2.0, Ushering in a New Era of Dining Excellence

Bangalore, 2nd June 2025: Celebrity chef Ajay Chopra has launched Plaka 2.0, a fresh and fearless new dining experience, now open at Phoenix Mall of Asia in Bangalore. The revamped restaurant introduces an all-new menu that challenges traditional ideas of fine dining, encourages guests to eat freely and loudly, and celebrates bold flavours from around the world. Plaka 2.0 was created to offer something different, food that feels real, fun, and personal, served in a space where everyone can feel at home.

For years, Chef Ajay Chopra has been a familiar name in Indian kitchens, with a culinary journey that spans over 25 years. With Plaka 2.0, he returns with his most personal concept yet—one that invites people to stop worrying about table manners and start enjoying food again.

At its heart, Plaka 2.0 is built around the idea that eating out should be relaxed, joyful, and full of flavour. The restaurant breaks away from stiff formal dining and instead offers a warm, vibrant setting inspired by Mediterranean beach bars. Sunlit interiors, breezy textures, lush greenery, and a funk-electro playlist set the tone. The live kitchen at the centre creates a sense of theatre, where fire, smoke, and plating all become part of the experience.

The new menu is divided into six fun, flavour-packed sections, each with its own personality. It includes options for both vegetarians and meat lovers, and every dish carries a bold twist. Highlights include the Truffle Parmesan Churros, Edamame Pizzette, Delhi Wali Aloo Tikki, and Aloo Shah Verma—a set of dishes that prove vegetarian food can be rich, creative, and satisfying.

For those who enjoy meat, dishes like the Delhi Fried Chicken and Champaran Ahuna Mutton bring bold spices, juicy textures, and strong desi roots. Another crowd favourite is the Tacobab, a mash-up of tacos and kebabs that’s as fun to eat as it is to say. The Stack Life section of the menu features juicy, double-patty burgers that are meant to be eaten with both hands, no knife or fork required.

Plaka 2.0 also celebrates Indian comfort food in the ‘Very Vernacular!’ section, where you’ll find rustic, soulful items like Kameena Kulcha and Agra Mushroom Mattar. One of the standout items on the menu is the Potlam Biryani, a banana-leaf-wrapped biryani made with native Seeraga Samba rice, slow-cooked to perfection and bursting with smoky, spicy flavour.

The experience doesn’t end with mains. ‘The After Party’ section delivers desserts with just as much energy. The Tres Leches is a soft, dreamy finale, offering just the right amount of drama and sweetness. Bonus dishes like Pinwheel Lasagne, Korean Gochujang Prawns Bowl, and Thecha Noodles add global twist and fusion finesse to round out the menu.

The restaurant also features a zero-proof cocktail bar, where guests can enjoy creative, alcohol-free drinks. These cocktails are built to complement the strong flavours of the food without overpowering them, giving guests the option to enjoy the experience without the aftereffects of alcohol.

“This isn’t fine dining. It’s fun dining,” says Chef Ajay Chopra. “I’ve created a menu that reflects who I am—full of flavour, full of stories, and built for people who want to enjoy food without rules. Plaka 2.0 is about being real, being loud, and eating with your heart.”

Plaka 2.0 isn’t just for food lovers, it is for anyone who wants to eat without being judged. Whether you’re vegetarian, meat-loving, experimental, or just craving something new, Plaka 2.0 welcomes you with open arms and open plates. No dress codes, no stiff service, no pressure—just good food and good vibes.

Plaka 2.0 is now open to the public at Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bangalore. Come hungry, come as you are, and experience a menu that’s as bold and unfiltered as the people it was made for.
