MOHAN Foundation Welcomes Growth in Organ Donation Awareness with ‘Samarthan’

New Delhi, February 07th, 2025: MOHAN Foundation, India’s leading non-profit trust, in association with the Rotary Club of Delhi Heights, is delighted to present ”Samarthan,” a soulful Sufi musical evening featuring renowned classical Indian vocalist, composer, and lyricist, Dhruv Sangari.

The event is scheduled to take place on March 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the serene surroundings of Sunder Nursery, a 16th-century heritage park adjacent to Humayun’s Tomb.

Dhruv Sangari, widely recognized by his stage name Bilal Chisty, is also referred to as the “Prince of Qawwali.” He leads popular bands and has contributed his voice to Bollywood, Hollywood, and TV shows, including hits on Coke Studio and MTV.

Samarthan aims to raise funds for Anudaan: Making Transplants Affordable, a MOHAN Foundation initiative dedicated to supporting underprivileged children to access life-saving organ transplants. Anudaan was initiated by the foundation in 2021 and has supported more than 100 transplants across India to date.

“Despite significant advancements, many organ failure patients in India remain unable to access life-saving transplants due to financial limitations. While some public hospitals offer free or subsidised transplants, the lack of adequate infrastructure and resources in most institutions severely limits availability. More than 95% of organ transplants are currently performed only in the private sector, and affordable transplants remain elusive to the poor in India,’’ said Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director, Mohan Foundation.

This noble event aims to bridge that gap and provide a second chance at life for children.

Samarthan promises to be an evening where music and philanthropy will come together to support a significant endeavour. By uniting for this, we can create a lasting impact on countless lives.
