NMIT won People’s Choice and Future Award at “Electric Solar Vehicle Championship 2023

NMIT won People’s Choice and Future Award at “Electric Solar Vehicle Championship 202326th May 2023, Bengaluru: NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT), Bengaluru participated and won accolades in the Electric Solar Vehicle Championship 2023 (ESVC 2023), which was held in Galgotias University, Greater Noida. Team Horus, the electric solar vehicle team of NMIT participated in ESVC 2023, Asia’s largest solar event organized by the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA) and co-organized by  Galgotias University, Greater Noida.

Team Horus successfully completed the race in India’s First Solar Car Rally. This event has created a significant impact in areas pertaining to electric vehicles through the rally, providing a platform to students across India to learn and improve their skills in new technologies and renewable energy, promoting e-mobility and green energy.

NMIT emerged as the winners in the People’s Choice award and bagged Future award in dynamic rounds. The team also had secured first place in Cost and Manufacturing and third place in the Engineering design category in the Static rounds. Team Horus was incubated in the year 2017, ever since it has been actively winning many national level solar vehicle awards under the guidance of Dr. L. Harish Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Department of NMIT.  Team Horus basically thrives to build sustainable electric and solar vehicles, setting new standards for better functionality and efficiency.

Speaking about this achievement the Team Horus Mentor Dr L Harish Kumar told, “We aim to build the society’s interest in renewable energy and electric mobility. We encourage budding engineers to combat real-life applications and improve their problem skills through experiential learning. Students at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology are exposed with industry trends and our objective is to create future ready responsible engineers with outcome-based education.”
