transcosmos Contributes to Miyagi Through Corporate Tax Donation
Tokyo, Japan, March 5, 2025: transcosmos is honored to announce that on February 6, 2025, the company received a certificate of appreciation from Miyagi Prefecture at a ceremony held at the Miyagi Prefectural Office for making a donation to the prefecture using the corporate version of Furusato Nozei, a Japanese hometown tax donation program.
With its four centers located in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, transcosmos offers contact center, digital marketing, and BPO services with approximately 1,600 people in the prefecture. transcosmos made the donation to demonstrate its commitment supporting the prefecture’s initiatives in the community where many of transcosmos employees live and work, and to express its gratitude to the local governments for supporting its business over the years.
The donation will be used for Miyagi Coastal Project (Miyagi Coastal Forest Restoration Project), a project Miyagi Prefecture is working on. More specifically, the donation will be used for the creation and preservation of seaweed beds as well as the expansion of seaweed farming production that in turn helps the absorption and sequestration of carbon dioxide, one of the main causes of global warming.

Toward this end, we have established the transcosmos SDGs Committee, which is specifically designed for aligning our business and management resources with our SDG initiatives, setting targets, prioritizing social issues of particular significance, and confirming the progress on a regular basis. With the aim of raising awareness and permeating our SDG initiatives, the committee runs various SDG-driven activities both internally and externally including SDGs training courses for our employees (e-learning), internal workshops with the selected members from each function, and more.
