Empowering Educators: IMS-DIA Hosts Conclave Focused on Creativity and Design Thinking in Art Education

Noida, Nov 29: The IMS–Design & Innovation Academy (DIA), Sector 62, Noida, successfully organized the Art Teacher Conclave. During the program, 60 students from various schools across Delhi-NCR explored different aspects of design, creativity, and innovation. Additionally, 58 art teachers were introduced to the SCAMPER creative thinking technique during the conclave.

DIA Dean, Professor (Dr.) M.K.V. Nair, informed that the students enthusiastically participated in hands-on activities that helped them think creatively, enhance imagination, and gain a deeper understanding of design-based learning. During the session, students also took part in the ‘Best Out of Waste’ activity, where they created useful and appealing products from discarded materials, showcasing their creativity and innovative thinking. He added that art teachers were introduced to the seven stages of SCAMPER Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to Another Use, Eliminate, and Reverse—enabling them to foster creative thinking more effectively among students. He further stated that the objective of the conclave was to promote art and design education and create awareness about emerging creative careers among teachers and students.

While inaugurating the conclave, Vice President Mr. Chirag Gupta said that IMS-DIA has always been committed to providing students and teachers with real-time exposure to creativity, innovation, and design thinking. The primary aim of the Art Teacher Conclave is not only to strengthen art education but also to promote design-oriented thinking at the school level. He expressed happiness over the enthusiastic participation of teachers and students and praised their talent and learning spirit.

Director General, Professor (Dr.) Vikas Dhawan, stated that design and creativity have become essential skills in every field today. The Art Teacher Conclave will play a significant role in shaping the future of creative education and will also help establish meaningful collaboration between schools and higher education institutions. He emphasized that students should focus on building strong skills at the school level and use those skills for innovation during their college years. He added that IMS-DIA is consistently working to prepare students for the rapidly changing global creative landscape.
