Mumbai,  April 2023 – Predictable, reverential, and hierarchical – not anymore! Get ready to witness the dawn of saas-bahu 2.0 as Disney+ Hotstar announces its upcoming show Hotstar Specials’ Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo, a story that redefines everything you thought you knew about the saas-bahu relationship. A mother-in-law who is unapologetically hardcore, and daughters-in-law who are steadfast and formidable – these women are nothing but badass, powerful, and even ruthless by choice.

Produced by Maddock Films, the series is directed by the uber-talented Homi Adajania and stars Dimple Kapadia, Radhika Madan, Angira Dhar, and Isha Talwar in pivotal roles along with a talented cast, Ashish Verma, Varun Mitra, Udit Arora, Deepak Dobriyal and Monica Dogra amongst others. Saas, Bahu aur Flamingo releases on 5th May 2023 only on Disney+ Hotstar.

In Cocktail, Finding Fanny or Being Cyrus, filmmaker Homi Adajania has created unconventional characters for his relatable yet hatke stories but above all, his imagination has given us some of the edgiest avatars of Dimple Kapadia. Saas Bahu aur Flamingo marks yet another collaboration of Dimple Kapadia and Homi Adajania with the unlawful world of this saas-bahus.

Opening up on collaborating with Homi Adajania, Dimple Kapadia said, “With Homi – there is a sense of trust that is always in place, and with Saas Bahu aur Flamingo, the storyline in itself was something unique and out of the box. In my first narration, I couldn’t believe this is the character that he penned down for me! The role of a Queenpin leading a cartel was something that I had never done before, and I was excited by the challenge of bringing this complex character to life on screen. Homi is one of the most eccentric directors I have worked with and he brings this eccentricity to their characters and the screenplay. He had a clear idea of what he wanted from the character and how he wanted to tell the story, and I was impressed by his attention to detail and his passion for the project. Overall, it was the combination of the character, the story, and the opportunity to work with Homi that made me say yes to the show.”
