‘Dunki’ Star Varun Kulkarni in Critical Health Condition, Seeks Crowdfunding Assistance
Mumbai, 28 January 2025: In a recent fundraiser that was started on a crowdfunding platform Ketto.org, actor Varun Kulkarni, who featured alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal in the film Dunki, revealed that he has been dealing with serious medical conditions. It is noted that he is going through Chronic Kidney Disease. His family started a fundraiser on Ketto.org to let people know that he is currently receiving dialysis and is in urgent need of a kidney transplant.
For the past few months, Varun and his spouse have been making every effort to make sure that Varun receives the treatment he needs. However, due to financial constraints, they had to use crowdfunding. Varun Kulkarni’s wife Rhea posted a fundraiser on Ketto and is utilising crowdfunding to help pay for the life-saving treatment he requires. More than INR 5,00,000 has already been spent on his therapy, and another INR 25,00,000 is needed to complete it.
In addition to being an exceptionally talented artist, Varun is a generous and compassionate person who is currently in need of the kind-hearted people’s support. Even the smallest donation made through Ketto can save his life. His quality of life can improve after the much needed transplant and surgery. He’s an artistic genius who belongs in plays and films. He will be able to return to his normal life and keep mesmerising his audience with his performances when he completes his recovery.
Varun Sheth, Co-Founder, Ketto.org stated, “Ketto has always made an effort to support those in need. One of the foundations of a strong community has always been crowdfunding. By bringing attention to one individual, we can draw attention to a hundred others in all spheres of society who require help. In order to support Varun and hundreds of other deserving people in need, we kindly ask that people donate.”
Rhea Rai, Varun Kulkarni’s wife added, “While Varun has been physically weak, he has kept himself mentally strong. Due to the kind support of his loved ones and the funds arranged through Ketto, he has been able to stay strong during this difficult time. Since Varun’s kidneys are permanently damaged, it has led to a lot of complications. Kidney transplant is his only option for a healthy future, hence we request people to donate.”
