The YAI Monsoon Regatta hosted by the Telangana Sailing Association in collaboration is set to start racing on the 12th morning

Hyderabad 12th July 2022….The Monsoon Regatta is in its 13th edition and one of the most competitive ranking nationals for the under 15 sub-junior fleet.

The top seeds Eklavya Batham boys and Divyanshi Mishra girls are from Bhopal and are just returning from the World Championships in Turkey to hit the waters of Hussain Sagar.

Local talent and No.2 seeded girl Tanuja Kameshwar and Daniel Rajkumar from the boys fleet will be challenging the top seeds.

About 70 participants will participate from across the country while a major proportion of the sailors will be from Telangana.

13 years on a trot with no gaps is a matter of pride for Telangana to conduct a National Ranking Regatta”, said Lt.Gen KS Rao the President of the Telangana Sailing Association

We will be introducing a new Trophy this season titled the Shri.SH Babu Memorial Trophy for the best Sailor without Discard in memory of the late Shri SH Babu, General Manager Railways. The spectacular Gold Trophy was instituted by his son STS Prasad who also recently passed in the US even before he could give away the trophy in memory of his late father.

The practice race saw winds gusting up to 20 knots and the race had to be abandoned the entire fleet of 60 boats was rescued in what was one of the most nail-biting moments in Monsoon Regatta history.
