Absolute Brands Wins ET ShopFwd Awards 2024 for ‘Emerging Fashion Brand of the Year

Bangalore, July 1, 2024: India’s leading omni-channel lifestyle and fashion company Absolute Brands and Retail today announced that it has been named as ‘Emerging Fashion Brand of the Year’ at the prestigious ET ShopFwd Awards 2024. This award recognises Absolute Brands’ rapid business growth, creativity, and disruption in the fashion retail landscape over the last year.

The ShopFwd Awards recognise and celebrate excellence in fashion retail and shopping centre industries. The focus for this year’s awards was on honouring the contributions of the fashion retail brands to the ever-evolving world of fashion.

This is the second major award win for Absolute Brands in two months. In May, the company won the prestigious Industry of Retail and eCommerce (IReC) Award for ‘Best Customer Insight Strategy’.

Absolute Brands’ flagship fashion brand for plus-sized people Big Hello was launched last year. The brand has quickly grown to 16 Retail Experience Stores in Bangalore, Chennai, Vijayawada, Indore, and Hyderabad. The brand also retails through its own e-commerce store.

Commenting on the win, Modita Tripathi, Brand Head at Absolute Brands, said, “We are truly honoured to be recognised as the Emerging Fashion Brand of the Year. This award is also a testament to our spectacular growth in a short period of time, which in turn is borne out of our relentless pursuit to completely reinvent what Indians expect from a plus-size fashion brand in terms of fits, finish, looks, and comfort.”

Designed as India’s first destination store for plus-size fashion, Big Hello offers a wide range of apparel and accessories, including both ethnic and western wear for men and women. The range includes shirts and t-shirts, trousers, jeans, chinos, shorts, blazers, kurtas, ethnic bottom-wear, and bandh galas, with perfect and highly technical fits and finishes for every body type, occasion, mood, and moment. Big Hello is looking to aggressively expand its retail footprint nationwide with plans to open 50 new stores over the next few months.

Vishnu Prasad, Founder and CEO of Absolute Brands, added, “Our vision for Absolute Brands is to transform the fashion industry and establish ourselves as a trusted destination for all customers whose fashion needs are not met by the existing brands. This recognition from ET ShopFwd is not only a welcome endorsement of our brand strategy, but also motivates us to double down on our efforts to bring the brand within easy reach of our customers around the country.”

Absolute Brands and Retail was founded last year by Vishnu Prasad, former CEO of Central and Brand Factory. The company has so far raised US$2.5 million in a seed funding round led by Capstone Ventures.
