18 September: CMS INDUSLAW advised Nexus Ventures in connection with the acquisition of Unacademy Group by upGrad Education Private Limited, in an all-stock transaction. The transaction involved the transfer of Nexus’ shareholding in Unacademy as part of the share-swap arrangement.
The transaction brings together two major players in India’s education technology sector, with upGrad expanding its presence into online test preparation and consumer learning through Unacademy’s portfolio, including PrepLadder, Graphy and Airlearn. The acquisition was completed on 1 September 2026 following regulatory approval from the Competition Commission of India.
