GLF Business School & Government of Rajasthan Forge Strategic Alliance to Power the Startup Ecosystem

Jaipur, Jan 12:

In a significant boost to India’s innovation and entrepreneurship landscape, GLF Business School, Kolkata and the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C), Government of Rajasthan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 4 January 2026 during the Rajasthan DigiFest & 10th TiE Global Summit, held in Jaipur from 4–6 January 2026.

The MoU was formally exchanged on the inaugural stage by Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Commissioner and Special Secretary, DoIT&C, and Prof. Avijit Banerjee, Director, GLF Business School in the august presence of Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, IT & Communication, Government of Rajasthan; Dr. Ravi Kumar Surpur, Secretary, IT & Communication, Government of Rajasthan; and other distinguished dignitaries from industry.

Through this partnership, GLF Business School becomes a “Host Institute” under the Government of Rajasthan’s startup ecosystem framework, joining the State’s ambitious journey to promote innovation-led entrepreneurship in Rajasthan and beyond. The MoU establishes a strong institutional bridge to mobilize and integrate startup entrepreneurs from Eastern and North-Eastern India into the broader national innovation ecosystem.

By leveraging GLF Business School’s academic excellence, incubation infrastructure, and mentoring capabilities in Eastern India, alongside Rajasthan’s structured startup platform, policy support, and market linkages, the collaboration will enable cross-regional access to incubation, acceleration programs, investor networks, innovation labs, and market opportunities. The partnership will also foster knowledge exchange, co-incubation initiatives, and national-level exposure for startups—helping them scale beyond regional boundaries while contributing to a more inclusive and connected startup ecosystem.

Announcing the partnership, Prof. Avijit Banerjee, Director, GLF Business School, said, “GLF Business School, Kolkata is proud to partner with the Government of Rajasthan in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and future-ready startup ecosystem that empowers young innovators and entrepreneurs in the State and beyond. This strategic partnership marks an important milestone in our collective journey to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup development.”

Highlighting the deeper cultural and economic connect between the two regions, Prof. Banerjee added, “Kolkata—a city where a large part of the business and industrial community traces its roots to Rajasthan—and Jaipur, designed in 1727 nearly 300 years ago by the Bengali architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, symbolize a timeless bond between East and West India. I am confident that GLF Business School will serve as a strong catalyst in supporting the vibrant startup ecosystem that the Government of Rajasthan so clearly envisions. We look forward to meaningful collaboration, impactful programs, and shared success in driving innovation-led growth for Rajasthan and beyond.”

This MoU is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening inter-regional startup collaboration, accelerating entrepreneurial growth, and advancing India’s vision of a nationally integrated and globally competitive innovation economy.
