Kochi, 7th June 2024: Amazon.in announced that sales for consumer electronics and personal computing products such as camera devices and accessories, tablets, desktops, PC accessories, laptops, monitors, and office products doubled in the last one year across Kochi. Furthermore, MSI, Acer, and Dell emerged as the most preferred brands amongst the customers from the region. - Increased inclination towards premium products: Consumers are showing growing preference for premium selections within product categories like headphones, musical instruments, and PC components, including graphic cards, CPUs, motherboards, and many more. Moreover, preference for gaming laptops has increased with MSI seeing a growth of over 60% YOY in the region
- Rapid surge in the sale of tablets: Tablets, particularly those by Honor, have witnessed a 3x increase, driven by new product launches. Also, retaining their popularity, Samsung along with Xiaomi witnessed over 95% YOY growth in sales
- UPI payment has emerged as the preferred payment option: UPI payments witnessed growth of over 35% YOY as the most preferred payment option, followed by credit cards and credit card EMIs. Also, with a surge of over 48% Amazon Pay ICICI credit card experienced an impressive YOY usage
- Popular brands are driving growth in the region: Noise and Bose headphone brands are driving growth and have witnessed impressive YOY growth in sales of upto 54%. Similarly, Samsung wearables have emerged as the fastest growing in the smartwatches category, experiencing significant growth of over 32% YOY
