‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Team Shares Birthday Tribute
Wishing Prabhas on his birthday, the makers wrote, “To the superhero of Indian Cinema… Happy Birthday to the Darling of every generation, Rebel Star #Prabhas. We are excited to embark on another epic cinematic journey with you… #Kalki2898AD.”

Prabhas to Return as Bhairava
Prabhas is set to reprise his role as Bhairava in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. In the first film, he portrayed a bounty hunter navigating a dystopian future, with the ancient city of Kashi serving as a key setting. His AI-powered vehicle companion, Bujji, also played an important role in the story.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film combines futuristic technology with elements of Indian mythology. The narrative also draws on the story of Karna, the legendary warrior from the Mahabharata, setting up further possibilities for the franchise.
Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan Expected to Return
The sequel is expected to feature Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama and Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, alongside Prabhas. The next instalment is anticipated to expand on the conflict and mythological themes introduced in the original film.
Although a 2027 theatrical release has been speculated, the makers have not officially announced a release date.
Birthday Video Raises Expectations
The birthday tribute has renewed excitement among fans eager to see Prabhas return to the futuristic world created by Nag Ashwin. While the BTS video celebrates the actor’s contribution to the franchise, the makers’ message has also added to anticipation surrounding the sequel.
For now, fans await further updates on the film’s production, cast and release plans as the Kalki 2898 AD story prepares to continue.
